This is one of those books.
35 young women, competing for one Prince's heart. Sounds intriguing, right? And the cover makes you wanna be a Princess. Yes, that's how I felt too. Unfortunately, I was kind of dissapointed about this book. I rarely give negative comments about books that I've read, but it's just sad how this book had been sort of created with The Hunger Games in mind. Spoiler Alert! This book has a love triangle, the main character is called America Singer and is born in Caste 5, guess what's her job? The Selection is obviously, a competition in which one winner will prevail in the end. I was kind of swooned by the character of Prince Maxon, and probably the only reason why I'm going to read the sequel 'The Elite' is for me to know if he ended up with America or not. Above all, the most heart-breaking part is, the author tried to stretch the story when in fact, she can obviously finish it in this book. For bookworms like me, it's up to you ;)
Rating: 2 out of 5 Stars for this book.
