Yet, looking for that one red velvet cupcake on a pile of cookies is sometimes a hard thing to do. Some, I've been deceived by cute covers, some by pretty titles, summary et. al! However this book, made me crave for more after I indulged it.
I've been a fan of 'Once Upon a Time' and 'Happily Ever After' since I can remember. Well, I think since I laid eyes on Ariel singing "Part of that World" wearing my Onesies! This book can be easily compared to Cinderella, whom, in this book, is named as Jessie Woods. Well, Jessie had been blinded by all that jazz, a career, a mansion, the perfect boyfriend. Normal, right? Funny thing I can relate to though is the fact that, you really would know who loves and cares for you when you have nothing anymore. Basically that's what happened to her. Ella-turned Cinderella-back to Ella and with chin held high, returned as Cinderella again. Another thing I did not expect, is that, the evil stepmom and sisters turned out to be the 'support system' she needed. Family will always be there no matter what. And of course, in every fairytale, there would always be a Prince, who did not fail to make me swoon. The ending is one I have predicted, yet, it's that type of ending you wish would happen..and thanks to Claudia Caroll, it did. *smiling*
